The business with “company set ups worldwide” flourishes.

Companies are wooed by the idea of anonymity and tax-free status. They are sold all too easily the idea of company set up abroad, a foreign bank account, an offshore company and residency.

But in reality, it often doesn’t work like that.

Many a self-styled company founder attracts customers with low set-up costs. The wake-up call comes later because it is not all over with the set up alone. The necessary background structure is often lacking: bookkeeping, tax advice, auditing, competence in company, liability and tax law, corporate intelligence, etc.

What is mostly lacking is the personal qualification of the “company founder”.

Then it starts to get difficult and/or expensive for you and you may have to close the company.

Precision, knowledge and experience:

International regulations and, in particular, the European legal system, however, offer many opportunities. Limitation of liability can be both effectively and legally optimised when done properly. This encompasses tax burden, bureaucracy and asset protection.

In Europe legal opportunities for reducing tax burden were capped (eg in Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Spain and Switzerland). Furthermore, tax burden, bureaucracy, inspections and increasing personal liability have unsettled medium-sized businesses in some countries and created new risks, often leading to the migration of companies/businessmen, crafts and capital.

Other countries, however, have lowered the tax rate, made bureaucracy dependable and regulations user friendly. The result: companies were set up there, capital invested and tax revenues increased in spite of or, rather, because of the lower tax rate.
